Today Was a Day at the Beach!

What an incredible day it is today at Lake Tahoe. Fresh powder, virtually no wind (where we were) and bright sunshine all around. While many families are, no doubt, having a wonderful time on the slopes today, we headed to the beach.

Yes, that's right, to the beach. Many beaches at Lake Tahoe and parks and playgrounds make wonderful snowplay areas. The pictures shown below were taken at Commons Beach in Tahoe City. A few words of caution: make sure the kids are dressed warmly, and be cautious about slipping on any ice that might be on the play equipment.

We were joined by two other families that came to play and enjoy a picnic at the beach. They did need their shovels to clear the snow from the picnic tables and benches. Once they were all set up, it was delightful.
