If you've ever been to Lake Tahoe on July 4th, you've, no doubt, seen the glorious fireworks show in Incline Village, on the north shore of Lake Tahoe. This year, however, that fireworks show may not go on. Yet, another apparent by-product of difficult economic times, this is the first year, in the event's history, it may be called off for lack of funding.
The approximate 20 minute fireworks show costs a staggering $80,000 this year. The good news, and yet the bad new, is as of today $40,930 of the $80,000 has been raised. If, however, the remainder of the funds are not raised, there will be no Incline Village fireworks.
If you're planning a July 4th celebration at Lake Tahoe, or if you've ever enjoyed this free fireworks show, organizers are calling on each family to donate $25 (or more, if possible) towards this year's fireworks. Your donation is tax deductible. (Tax ID# 20-597-8751). Send your contributions to RWTB, P.O. Box 3789, Incline Village, NV 89450, today.
To remind you what you're contributing to, here is a video of the Grand Finale of the July 4, 2008 fireworks over Lake Tahoe:

- BBQ $3,500
- Dinners $5,000

Firework organizers, Red, White and Tahoe Blue, hope to raise the remaining funds in time to present this amazing fireworks spectacular this summer. In the event the remaining amount is not raised for this summer, the proceeds will be rolled over to 2010,when the tradition will continue.
