Indoor climbing walls at Lake Tahoe

Indoor Climbing walls are designed to mimic the experience of rock climbing outdoors. Some consider indoor climbing walls to be a more controlled, and therefore, safer environment for climbing. Indoor walls are man-made walls with attached holds, points on the wall where hands or feet can settle the climber's weight while climbing. Indoor walls are designed to simulate actual outdoor mountain walls. The techniques, equipment and guidelines of indoor climbing are similar to those of outdoor rock climbing. Indoor climbing walls in the Lake Tahoe area, range from 800 to 4,000 vertical square feet of climbing terrain.
